Position Summary:
As a Respiratory Therapist Instructor, you will be the cornerstone of our students' educational journey. You will deliver high-quality, hands-on instruction and develop engaging lesson plans that prepare students for successful careers in respiratory care. Your expertise will ensure our program not only meets but exceeds curriculum standards, fostering an environment of academic excellence and professional growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Instruction & Curriculum Delivery

Develop and implement dynamic lesson plans that align with program objectives and cater to diverse learning styles.

Deliver engaging lectures, lead interactive lab sessions, and conduct practical demonstrations to build student competence and confidence.

Utilize modern technology, including simulation tools and presentation software, to create an immersive learning experience.
Student Success & Mentorship

Actively monitor student attendance and academic performance, providing proactive intervention and individualized support to promote success.

Serve as a mentor and advisor, maintaining an 80% or higher student success rate through dedicated coaching and feedback.

Manage administrative tasks, including submitting weekly attendance reports and final grades in a timely manner.
Program & Community Engagement

Help coordinate enriching experiences such as guest speaker events, field trips, and clinical externships to bridge classroom learning with real-world practice.

Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and accreditation standards to ensure our program remains at the forefront of respiratory therapy education.
Compliance & Professionalism

Ensure all instructional activities adhere to state, federal, and program accreditation standards.

Maintain an active RRT credential and Nevada state RCP licensure in good standing.

Uphold a positive, inclusive, and professional learning environment for all students.
What You Bring (Qualifications):
Minimum Requirements:

An Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy (Bachelor’s degree is preferred).

Graduate of a CoARC-accredited respiratory therapy program.

Current RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) credential.

A current and unrestricted Nevada state RCP (Respiratory Care Practitioner) license.

A minimum of 3 years of clinical experience as a Respiratory Therapist in a hospital or clinical setting.
Ideal Candidate Will Have:

1+ year of teaching experience in an accredited respiratory therapy program.

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and learning management systems.
