Remote Medical Assistant Lead Instructor

LEAD INSTRUCTOR ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Provide feedback to the Education Department regarding course content updates.

Implement curriculum and textbook updates into hybrid program courses.
-
Demonstrate expertise in integrated tools to support hybrid instructors effectively.
-
Monitor student success in hybrid courses and act as the primary liaison between lab and hybrid faculty for communication.
-
Ensure hybrid faculty schedules required synchronous introductory meetings with campus faculty and students.
-
Collaborate on hybrid initiatives to enhance the student experience, outcomes, and campus communication.
-
Evaluate student outcomes (e.g., retention, progression, end-of-course surveys) and develop strategies to reduce course failures.
-
Lead or participate in continuing education training for hybrid faculty.

Organize and document hybrid-focused meetings with faculty and administration to maintain accreditation compliance.

Partner with the Hybrid Assistant Dean of Faculty to mentor new hybrid faculty, provide remedial training, and address curriculum-related concerns.

Provide substitute or emergency coverage for hybrid courses as needed.

Submit data and updates for campus Advisory Board discussions, review meeting minutes, and communicate concerns and progress to the Hybrid Program Director.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Teach Medical Assistant foundational courses online, adhering to accreditation standards.

Provide substantive feedback and grade assignments within 48-72 hours, offering support to struggling students.

Respond to student inquiries within 24 hours.

Schedule and conduct synchronous meetings to advise and tutor students.
-
Report academic or behavioral issues to the Student Services Coordinator and Hybrid Lab Faculty within 24 hours.

Maintain student grades in accordance with policies and submit final grades by required deadlines.

Participate in hybrid faculty meetings, in-service sessions, workshops, and professional development activities.

Monitor student attendance and performance, provide outreach to at-risk students, and inform relevant staff.

Achieve an 80% retention rate across all courses taught.

Document attendance, early alerts, and other records as required.
-
Stay current with professional trends and advances in technology.
-
Perform additional duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Associate degree from an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education or CHEA.

Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program recognized by the US Secretary of Education, CHEA, or another recognized training entity (e.g., hospital-based program or international equivalent).

Three (3) years of full-time occupational experience in a healthcare facility, including a minimum of 40 hours in an ambulatory healthcare setting.

Four (4) years of job-related training and experience for instructors not graduated from an accredited Medical Assistant program.

Three (3) years of online teaching experience.

Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Suite, Blackboard, and other relevant tools.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration or a related field from an accredited institution.
REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, OR REGISTRATIONS

Current, unencumbered registration or certification from a nationally recognized certifying agency (CMA or RMA).
