Medical Assistant (Part-Time Instructor)
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Develop and deliver individual lesson plans in one or more subjects, using diverse teaching techniques that cater to various learning styles.

Plan instruction to meet specific objectives based on student needs and the established curriculum.

Assist with student recruitment, registration, and placement activities.
-
Evaluate and grade students’ classwork, assignments, and papers within 72 hours.
-
Address academic or behavioral concerns and notify the Assistant Dean of Faculty and the Student Services Coordinator as needed.
-
Maintain regularly scheduled face-to-face office hours for student advisement and support.
-
Review and suggest course material updates—including syllabi, homework assignments, and handouts—through the established process.

Participate in faculty meetings, advisory boards, professional development, graduations, and campus workshops.

Complete documentation for student files, attendance records, incident reports, early alerts, and other required records.

Organize guest speakers, community service field trips, and visits to clinics and medical offices.

May assist in supervising students during externship experiences.

Perform additional related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education, the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), or another recognized training entity (e.g., hospital-based program).

Alternatively, three (3) years of job-related training and experience for instructors without an accredited program background.

Three (3) years of full-time occupational (i.e., practical) experience as a Medical Assistant.

Functional proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, video conferencing tools, and computer/internet applications.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Classroom teaching experience.

Three (3) years of occupational (i.e., practical) experience as a Medical Assistant.
REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, OR REGISTRATIONS

Current, unencumbered registration or certification through a nationally recognized and accredited certifying agency (CMA or RMA).

If certification is not currently held, willingness to obtain one is required.

If applicable, must hold a current license, certification, or credential as required by local, state, and federal laws to practice in the field.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Hiring Range: $20.80–$24.96 per hour.
