Location: Pima Medical Institute - Aurora Campus | On-Site Position

Type: Full-Time (40 Hours/Week) | Monday – Friday

Compensation: $40.00 – $46.89 per hour

 

Pima Medical Institute is seeking a passionate and dedicated Practical Nursing Instructor to join our Aurora campus faculty and help educate the next generation of nurses.

This full-time, on-campus position focuses exclusively on classroom and skills lab instruction — allowing you to concentrate on what matters most: teaching, mentoring, and student success. Our program is built around a supportive team structure with dedicated clinical instructors handling clinical rotations, so you won't be pulled in multiple directions. The result is a more focused, sustainable teaching role where you can be fully present for your students and experience those meaningful moments when everything clicks for them.

 

What Your Week Looks Like:

• Monday – Thursday: Lead classroom and simulation lab instruction following our approved Practical Nursing curriculum (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, one-hour lunch included).
• Friday: Host open lab for students who have not yet begun clinical rotations, providing hands-on support and skill reinforcement.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and deliver engaging lectures aligned with our approved Practical Nursing curriculum.
• Facilitate skills lab activities and provide hands-on instruction in a supportive learning environment.
• Monitor student academic performance and attendance, providing proactive intervention and support.
• Support student progression through regular academic advising and performance check-ins.
• Coach students toward NCLEX readiness.
• Participate in faculty meetings and contribute to ongoing program quality improvement and CNEA accreditation standards.

 

Minimum Requirements:

• Current, active, unencumbered RN license in the state of Colorado.
• Master's in Nursing (MSN) preferred; BSN candidates with active enrollment in an MSN program will be considered with a commitment to completion.
• Minimum 3 years of practical experience providing direct patient care.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to break down complex clinical concepts for students.
• Prior teaching, precepting, or simulation experience preferred.
