Lead the Future of Practical Nursing

Pima Medical Institute is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Practical Nursing (LPN) program as a Full-Time Classroom Instructor. This role is ideal for an RN who wants to transition from long clinical shifts into a stable, Monday–Friday academic position focused on teaching, mentoring, and shaping the next generation of Licensed Practical Nurses.

As the primary on-campus instructor, you will deliver core nursing theory, guide students through simulation-based learning, and support their progression toward clinical readiness and NCLEX-PN success. Clinical faculty manage off-site rotations, allowing you to focus fully on classroom excellence and student development.

What Your Week Looks Like

  • Monday–Thursday: Lead classroom lectures and simulation-lab instruction using the approved Practical Nursing curriculum (8:00 AM–5:00 PM).

  • Friday: Facilitate open-lab practice, provide one-on-one tutoring, reinforce essential skills, and complete academic tracking and documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Classroom & Lab Instruction — Deliver didactic, skills-lab, and simulation-based learning experiences.

  • Curriculum Delivery — Prepare and deliver lesson plans aligned with course syllabi, objectives, and outlines.

  • Program Collaboration — Work with the Program Director to implement, evaluate, and enhance the program of learning.

  • Student Advising — Maintain student records, provide academic counseling, and meet regularly with students to support progression.

  • Skills Lab Oversight — Manage skills lab inventory, equipment, and readiness for student practice.

  • Faculty Coordination — Mentor new faculty and coordinate instruction with ANIP and clinical instructors.

  • Clinical Alignment — Ensure learning objectives transition smoothly from classroom to clinical environments.

  • Accreditation & Compliance — Participate in faculty meetings, program evaluation activities, and accreditation processes.

  • NCLEX-PN Preparation — Coach students toward licensure readiness through structured remediation and exam-focused strategies.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s degree, with a major in nursing, from a Nursing Education Program with a national nursing accreditation.

  • Three (3) years occupational (i.e., practical) experience as a nurse providing direct patient care.

  • Current Colorado RN license and any other credential as required by local, state and/or federal laws to work as a Registered Nurse in Colorado.

  • Verbal and written communications skills.

  • Knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and computer skills.
