Leadership & Program Oversight
- Supervise the activities of the radiography staff.
- Determine, establish, and implement radiography department goals.
- Monitor the department budget and expenditures. Make appropriate corrections and changes to maintain a profitable program.
Student Success & Academic Support
- Review student success rates by class and implement a plan to reduce student withdrawals.
- Meet with students to encourage them to stay in the program.
- Maintain an 80% student success rate for all classes taught in the program.
- Maintain student grades by established policies.
- Prepare final grades at the end of each semester to update student records and transcripts.
- Evaluate the students' performance regarding course objectives and make necessary provisions to meet learning needs.
Faculty Development & Instruction
- Prepare teaching assignments.
- Coordinate and arrange for educational workshops and in-services for didactic and clinical faculty.
- Prepare didactic instruction to include course objectives.
- Perform functions of a Radiography instructor.
Clinical Education & Site Management
- Secure new clinical sites and agreements.
- Visit clinical sites to review and evaluate students’ clinical performance and progress.
- Coordinate with site instructors to ensure clinical education is effective.
Curriculum Development & Accreditation
- Develop and maintain a functional curriculum according to approved design.
- Evaluate course content and review new texts.
- Collaborate with administration in the design and implementation of the radiography program.
- Maintain all ARRT records and prepare annual reports.
- Prepare self-study for accreditation.
Minimum Requirements
- Master’s degree from an institution accredited by a regional or national accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (USDE) or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
- Graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technology program recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (USDE) or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
- Two (2) years of documented experience as an instructor in a JRCERT accredited Radiography program.
- Three (3) years full-time clinical experience in medical imaging.
- Must hold current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration in Radiologic Sciences, or equivalent (i.e., unrestricted state license for the state in which the program is located).
- Current license, certification, or other credential as required by local, state, and/or federal laws to work in the Radiologic Technology field.
Additional Skills
- Proficient in curriculum design, program administration, evaluation, instruction, and academic advising.
- Possess the academic and professional qualifications for their teaching assignment.
- Verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other computer skills.
Compensation & Benefits
- Hiring Range: $102,995 to $128,750
