Pima Medical Institute is seeking experienced Registered Nurses to join our Practical Nursing Program faculty. This role is built around leveraging your critical clinical expertise into a rewarding and highly compensated academic career. Trade unpredictable 12-hour shifts and mandated overtime for competitive pay ($40.00-$46.89/hr) and a fixed, part-time academic schedule.
Specific Part-Time Schedule:
Didactic/Theory Instruction: Three days per week (Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday), 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Note: The Clinical Instructor schedule (Thursday & Friday, 6:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.) is a separate opportunity. This posting is primarily for the Didactic role, requiring M-W availability.
Key Responsibilities:
The Nursing Instructor delivers instruction across all Practical Nursing learning modalities: theory (classroom), hands-on skills (simulation labs), and clinical settings.

Prepare and deliver engaging instruction based on approved nursing curriculum.

Lead dynamic, high-fidelity simulation lab activities; training on our simulation equipment and pedagogy is provided.

Supervise, evaluate, and mentor students in all learning environments.

Provide academic advising to support student progression and NCLEX readiness.

Participate in curriculum and program quality improvement.

Minimum Required Qualifications (CNEA Alignment):
We seek candidates committed to meeting CNEA faculty credentialing standards.

Education (Required): Master’s in Nursing (MSN) OR Bachelor’s in Nursing (BSN) plus current, active enrollment in an MSN program. Commitment to completing the graduate program is essential.

Licensure: Current, active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Colorado.

Experience: A minimum of 3 years of practical experience as a nurse providing direct patient care.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Highly Desired Qualifications:

Simulation Experience: Background in conducting high-fidelity simulation or skills lab instruction is strongly preferred.

Prior experience in teaching, precepting, or charge nurse roles.
