As a Career Prep Instructor, you are the first point of contact for students entering the medical field at our Denver campus. You will teach the foundational "building blocks" that every healthcare professional needs to master before moving into their specialty.
No teaching license? No problem. We value your real-world experience. If you have the medical background, we provide a comprehensive "Train the Trainer" program to help you become an elite educator.
The Foundations Curriculum
You will guide students through a critical sequence designed to prepare them for the rigors of medical training:
- Medical Science: Anatomy, Physiology, and Medical Terminology.
- Academic Success: Study Skills and Math Fundamentals.
- Professional Readiness: Computer Basics, CPR, and First Aid.
Essential Functions
- Instruction: Design and deliver lesson plans that appeal to different learning styles (visual, auditory, kinesthetic).
- Student Mentorship: Maintain office hours to advise students and discuss academic or behavioral progress.
- Assessment: Evaluate and grade class work and assignments within a 72-hour window.
- Curriculum Input: Regularly suggest changes to course materials, syllabi, and handouts through established channels.
- Community Connection: Arrange guest speakers, community service field trips, and visits to local clinics or medical offices.
- Professionalism: Participate in faculty meetings, advisory board meetings, and campus graduations.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education/Experience: Graduation from an accredited program in a relevant field OR a minimum of three (3) years of related occupational experience.
- Work History: Three (3) years of practical work experience in a medical or professional environment.
- Subject Mastery: Demonstrated knowledge of core subjects (Anatomy, Physiology, Med Term) through previous education or work experience.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Tech Literacy: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and basic computer applications.
