Flexible Work Schedule: This position offers multiple shifts, including day, afternoon, and evening options, totaling 24 hours per week. It provides a great opportunity to maintain a healthy work-life balance while accommodating different scheduling needs.

Essential Functions

Instructional Responsibilities

  • Develop and evaluate daily lesson plans, incorporating scheduled activities and course materials.

  • Plan instruction to meet specific objectives based on student needs and the established curriculum.

  • Prepare engaging lectures and practical demonstrations for both group and individual instruction.

Student Support & Success

  • Monitor laboratory competencies and confirm skill levels using checklists.

  • Track student attendance and coordinate with the Program Director or Associate Director of Student Services for consecutive absences (two days in a row) or extended absences (more than four days in one sequence).

  • Meet with students to encourage retention and support their success in the program.

  • Maintain an 80% student success rate across all classes taught in the program.

Assessment & Documentation

  • Assess student performance in coursework and activities, making necessary adjustments to support learning needs.

  • Record and maintain student grades per established policies, and submit final grades at the end of each sequence to update records and transcripts.

    Safety & Compliance

    • Ensure adherence to safety precautions while supervising students in the classroom and laboratory settings.

    Additional Duties

    • Perform additional related duties as required.

     

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Education: Associate degree from an AVMA CVTEA-accredited program recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).

    • Experience: Three (3) years of practical experience within the veterinary field.

    • Licensure: Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT), holding a current license, certification, or other designation required by local, state, or federal laws.

    • Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other computer applications.

    COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

    • VA Instructor Hiring Range: $23.73 - $29.66 per hour
    • VT Instructor Hiring Range: $31.00 - $38.75 per hour
