LEAD INSTRUCTOR ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Share feedback with the Education Department contact regarding course content updates.

Implement curriculum and textbook updates into hybrid program courses.

Demonstrate proficiency in integrated tools to effectively support hybrid instructors.

Monitor student success in hybrid courses and act as the liaison between on-ground lab and hybrid faculty, ensuring consistent communication.

Ensure hybrid faculty schedule required synchronous introductory meetings with campus faculty and students.
-
Collaborate on hybrid initiatives to enhance the student experience, outcomes, and campus communication.

Evaluate student outcomes (e.g., retention, progression, end-of-course surveys) and develop strategies to address course failures.

Lead or participate in continuing education training for hybrid faculty.

Organize and document regular hybrid-focused meetings with faculty and administration to ensure accreditation compliance.

Mentor new hybrid faculty, provide remedial training, and address curriculum-related student concerns in partnership with the Hybrid Assistant Dean of Faculty.

Provide substitute or emergency coverage for hybrid courses when needed.

Submit updates and data for campus Advisory Board discussions and ensure important concerns are communicated to the Hybrid Program Director.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (VETERINARY ASSISTANT)

Teach Veterinary Assistant foundational courses in an online setting, adhering to accreditation standards.

Provide feedback on assignments, grade submissions within 48-72 hours, and offer support to struggling students.

Respond to student inquiries within 24 hours.

Schedule and conduct synchronous meetings to advise and assist students.

Report academic or behavioral issues to the Student Services Coordinator and Hybrid Lab Faculty within 24 hours.

Maintain student grades per established policies and submit final grades by deadlines.
-
Participate in faculty meetings, workshops, and professional development activities.
-
Monitor attendance and performance, reaching out to at-risk students and notifying relevant staff.
-
Maintain an 80% retention rate across all courses taught.
-
Comply with required documentation for attendance, alerts, and records.
-
Stay updated on professional and technological trends.
-
Perform additional duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Associate degree from an AVMA CVTEA accredited program recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or CHEA.

Three (3) years of practical experience as a Veterinary Technician.

Three (3) years of online teaching experience.

Three (3) years of teaching experience in a Veterinary Assistant/Technician program and licensure as a doctor of veterinary medicine (DVM) or credentialed veterinary technician.

Active license, certification, or designation required to work in the veterinary field.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Suite, Blackboard, and other relevant tools.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Technology or related field from an accredited institution.
REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, OR REGISTRATIONS

Current license, certification, or designation as required by local, state, or federal laws for work in the veterinary field.
