Online RN to BSN Associate Program Director

The Associate Program Director is part of the academic leadership team, supporting the Program Director in managing the Online Bachelor of Science in Nursing (RN to BSN) degree program.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assist the Program Director with institutional and programmatic accreditation tasks and compliance.
  • Supervise online faculty of the BSN program as directed by the Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program Director.
  • Evaluate and develop online faculty of the BSN program to include coaching and mentoring on teaching methodologies.
  • Advise and counsel students about schedule changes, academic progress, attendance concerns, etc. Maintain a minimum student retention rate of 70% for all classes taught in the program.
  • Maintain student grades by established policies. Prepare final grades at the end of each sequence/semester to update student records and transcripts.
  • Track and assess student performance and accomplishment of course objectives and make recommendations for improvement to the curriculum and/or student experience.
  • Participate in data-informed curriculum and program reviews.
  • Engage in ongoing analysis of program effectiveness, including the impact of changes in curriculum or experiences.
  • Perform functions of an online instructor within the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program.
  • Additional related duties may be assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree in Nursing from an accredited institution recognized by the Department of Education or by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
  • Five (5) years of experience as a registered nurse and two (2) years of documented experience as a nursing instructor in a program leading to a baccalaureate degree or higher.
  • Active and unencumbered Nursing License in good standing with the state board of nursing.
  • Experience teaching in an online or hybrid platform.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Willingness to adjust schedule to the Arizona time zone.
  • Experience with accreditation standards and regulatory compliance for higher education institutions.
  • Work experience in learning management systems (LMS) and online teaching platforms.
  • Effective communication; teamwork; collaboration; problem-solving; critical thinking
  • Proficient with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and other computer applications.
  • Familiarity with third-party learning tools; familiarity with Blackboard Ultra and Panopto
  • Any equivalent combination of training, education, or experience that meets the minimum qualifications.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Doctorate in Nursing from an accredited institution recognized by the Department of Education or by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
  • Multi-state compact licensure is preferred.
  • Two (2) years of documented nursing program administration.

 REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, OR REGISTRATIONS:

  • Active and unencumbered Nursing License in good standing with the state board of nursing.
  • If applicable, in addition to the above criteria, one must have a current license, certification, or another credential as required by local, state, and federal laws to work in the field.
