Licensed Pharmacy Technician – Educational Lab Assistant

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement dynamic lab scenarios in coordination with program faculty, ensuring students experience realistic pharmacy training.
  • Provide regular guidance and mentorship through scheduled meetings with students, fostering their growth and career readiness.
  • Collaborate with instructors and program leaders to align practical lab experiences with didactic coursework.
  • Offer valuable feedback to students and faculty, ensuring individualized learning support for every aspiring technician.
  • Monitor and track student performance, progression, and assignments, maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Demonstrate expertise in pharmaceutical practices and clinical skills, ensuring students receive up-to-date industry knowledge.
  • Encourage professional development by participating in faculty training and industry organizations.
  • Advise students on their academic journey, helping them navigate coursework and career pathways.
  • Support classroom learning by assisting with grading, preparing materials, and ensuring lab equipment is stocked and ready for training.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an ASHP/ACPE accredited pharmacy technician program or graduate from an accredited program recognized by the U. S. Department of Education (USDE) or Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) in the specialty field or subject area in which they teach or have a minimum of four (4) years of job-related training and experience for instructors who are not graduates from an accredited program in the field in which they teach.
  • Three (3) years of occupational (practical) experience as a Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacist and current knowledge in the areas in which they are teaching.
  • Must be a member of at least one national and one state pharmacy organization.

Required Licenses, Certifications, or Registrations: 

  • If applicable, in addition to the above criteria, must adhere to and have a current license, certification, or another credential as required by local, state, and federal laws to work in the field.
