Dental Hygiene Clinic Coordinator | Full-Time
Job Overview
The Dental Hygiene Clinic Coordinator is responsible for instructing and supervising students in the Dental Hygiene Program while ensuring alignment with the program's curriculum standards and objectives. This role includes overseeing the dental hygiene services provided by student dental hygienists, supervising clinic instructors, and participating in didactic and laboratory instruction as part of the dental hygiene education program.
Essential Functions

Assist with the recruitment, mentoring, and guidance of clinical faculty.

Provide training and calibration for clinical faculty.

Conduct weekly briefings with clinical faculty.

Support the Clinical Director in evaluating clinical faculty performance.

Develop and manage the daily clinic assignment rotation schedule for students and faculty.

Conduct student orientations for clinics, labs, and clinic-related courses and requirements.

Deliver engaging classroom lectures, laboratory demonstrations, and activities as needed.

Participate in clinical instruction, student competency evaluations, and board examination preparation.

Oversee and maintain the clinical evaluation system.

Monitor and track student progress and performance.

Schedule and lead clinical advisement sessions at midterm and the end of each semester.

Supervise daily student clinical activities, including implementing policies and procedures, addressing dental-related emergencies, and resolving questions or concerns from students, faculty, staff, and patients.

Participate actively in clinic committee meetings.

Inform the Clinical Director of recommended additions or changes to clinical policies and procedures.

Collaborate with the Clinical Director on daily clinic operations and supply management.

Minimum Qualifications

A baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution or current enrollment in a baccalaureate degree program at an accredited institution (a master’s degree is preferred).

Current knowledge of the specific subjects taught.

Licensure or certification by the appropriate agency as a dental hygienist or dentist.

At least three (3) years of experience as a dental hygienist or dentist is preferred.

Possession of current dental or dental hygiene licenses, certifications, or other required designations as mandated by local, state, or federal regulations.

Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and dental computer software.
An equivalent combination of training, education, or experience that meets the minimum qualifications will also be considered.
