Position Summary
Transform lives—become a Surgical Technology Instructor! Pima Medical Institute is seeking an experienced Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to join our Seattle campus.
If you love mentoring, sharing real-world operating room insights, and guiding students to master clinical skills, this role allows you to inspire the next generation of healthcare professionals while staying deeply connected to the field you love. You will deliver engaging classroom lectures, guide hands-on surgical skills labs, and support student success from orientation through graduation.
Key Responsibilities
Instruction & Curriculum Delivery:

Lesson Execution: Develop and implement daily lesson plans aligned with program learning objectives, adapting instructional methods to support diverse student learning styles.

Classroom & Lab Instruction: Deliver engaging lectures and lead hands-on surgical lab demonstrations, ensuring students master scrub techniques, sterile processing, instrument handling, and aseptic practices.

Classroom Management: Maintain a structured, safe, and professional learning environment that models modern operating room standards.
Student Support & Success:

Progress Tracking: Monitor attendance, track academic performance, grade coursework, and maintain official student records in compliance with institutional guidelines.

Retention Strategies: Proactively mentor students, offer academic guidance, and implement support plans to maintain an 80%+ student success rate (alerting leadership if student averages drop below 77%).

Academic Administration: Submit weekly attendance reports, participate in faculty meetings, and coordinate guest speakers, field trips, and clinical site visits.
Minimum Requirements

Education:
-
Associate degree from an accredited higher education institution.

Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program (or equivalent military surgical technologist training).

Clinical Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of operating room experience within the last five (5) years.

Non-graduates of an accredited Surgical Tech program must possess at least four (4) years of OR experience.

Certifications & Licensure:

Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential from an NCCA-accredited organization (e.g., NBSTSA).

Active Washington State Surgical Technologist registration/license as required by state law.

Technical & Soft Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or Google Workspace.
Preferred Qualifications:

Three (3) years of teaching experience in surgical technology or allied health education.
