Instruct and implement the Surgical Technology program to educate students in accordance with the curriculum standards and objectives. Provide oversight of quality and integrity of Surgical Technology program.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (Adjusted for On-Call Role):

  • Execute pre-prepared daily lesson plans for students, ensuring a seamless continuation of learning in the absence of the primary instructor.

  • Effectively deliver scheduled lectures and practical demonstrations.

  • Monitor students in the classroom and lab settings, ensuring adherence to all safety protocols.

  • Provide academic support and answer student questions based on the established curriculum.

  • Maintain a positive and productive learning environment.

  • Accurately record student attendance and report it to the appropriate administrator.

  • May be asked to proctor exams or oversee practical skills assessments.

  • Provide a handover report to the primary instructor or program director regarding class progress and any notable issues.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate degree from an accredited surgical technology program recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), or equivalent military training.

  • A minimum of three (3) years of recent operating room experience in the scrub role.

  • Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential through the NBSTSA (required).

  • Any current state-specific license or certification required to work in the field.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to adapt quickly to existing lesson plans and classroom dynamics.

  • Proficiency with basic computer software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) to access curricula and submit reports.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

  • Hourly Rate: $31.00 - $38.75 per hour

  • This is an on-call, as-needed position. Hours are not guaranteed and are based on program coverage needs.
