The Student Accounts Specialist is responsible for maintenance of student ledger cards according to defined company and industry guidelines. This includes posting charges, payments, refunds and credits. This position is also responsible for ensuring the ledger records in the student information system (SIS) are reconciled and accurate.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Student Accounts Specialist is responsible for coordinating, processing, and maintaining all Pima Medical Institute student accounts. The Student Accounts Specialist ensures accurate ledger records in the student information system (SIS) per company and industry standards, posting tuition charges, payments, refunds, stipends, and credits, and coordinating Title IV refunds or stipends with key stakeholders.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Perform accurate posting of all charges, payments, refunds, stipends, and credits for all campuses
  • Prepare reports and reconcile student account records with rosters and federal funds bank accounts in our Student Information System (SIS).
  • Ensure all individual student transactions (charges, payments, and institutional scholarships) are compliant with Pima Medical Institute, Military/Veteran Affairs, and DOE policies.
  • Prepare financial reports and ensure the accuracy of Title IV disbursements for accounting.
  • Prepare and process integrated payable files for Title IV refunds/stipends to the bank.
  • Resolve student account balances and Title IV credit balances within the 240-day policy by escalating questions to determine appropriate corrective actions.
  • Provide customer service support to PMI departments/staff, corporate office, Student Finance Coordinators, and Officers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least 3-5 years of comparable experience required.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, with an emphasis on Excel.
  • Strong initiative and ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Must be detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Experience with Title IV funds, compliance regulations, or working in higher education.
  • Understanding of regulatory compliance, including Title IV and Department of Education policies.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  • Hiring Range - $20 80 to $24.96
