Respiratory Therapy Instructor

Location: Denver Campus (On-site) Schedule: Full-time

Summary: PMI’s Denver campus is seeking a qualified and dedicated Respiratory Therapy Instructor to join our team. In this role, you’ll deliver engaging instruction, support student success, and help shape the next generation of respiratory care professionals. Essential Responsibilities

As a Respiratory Therapy Instructor, you will:

  • Develop and deliver daily lesson plans, lectures, labs, and hands-on demonstrations

  • Plan instruction to meet curriculum goals and individual student needs

  • Monitor student attendance and report consecutive absences to the Associate Director; submit weekly attendance reports

  • Track student success rates and implement strategies to reduce withdrawals; maintain an 80% success rate across all classes

  • Meet with students to encourage retention and academic progress

  • Maintain accurate grade records and submit final grades each semester

  • Evaluate student performance and adjust instruction to support learning outcomes

  • Coordinate guest speakers, field trips, and clinic visits

  • Advise students on the Respiratory Therapy curriculum

  • May assist with externship coordination for Respiratory Therapy students

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must meet one of the following:

  • Associate degree from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or CHEA, or

  • At least four years of relevant training and experience for those without a degree from an accredited program

Additional requirements:

  • Minimum of three years of clinical experience in hospital or healthcare settings

  • One year of teaching experience in an accredited respiratory therapy program (preferred)

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) and current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license

  • Compliance with all local, state, and federal licensing or certification requirements

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and general computer applications

 

Compensation & Benefits

  • Hourly Pay Range: $34.11 – $42.63
