Respiratory Therapy Instructor (Part-Time Faculty)

Location: Denver, CO | Campus: On-Site

Schedule: Part-Time (Approx. 32 Hours/Week) | Day Shift

Hiring Range: $34.11 – $42.63 per hour

Key Responsibilities

  • Instructional Leadership: Develop and deliver daily lesson plans, lectures, and hands-on laboratory demonstrations that meet CoARC and ABHES curriculum goals.
  • Student Success: Track student performance and implement retention strategies to maintain a target 80% success rate across all classes.
  • Clinical Excellence: Evaluate student performance in laboratory settings, ensuring they master the technical skills required for clinical rotations.
  • Mentorship & Advising: Meet with students to discuss academic progress, provide curriculum advising, and encourage professional development.
  • Administrative Integrity: Maintain accurate attendance and grade records, submitting final evaluations on time and in accordance with institutional policy.
  • Community Connection: Coordinate guest speakers, field trips, and medical office visits to bridge the gap between the classroom and the workforce.

Minimum Requirements

  • Credentialing: Must be a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with a current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license.
  • Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of occupational (clinical) experience in a hospital or healthcare setting.
  • Education: Associate degree from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program OR four (4) years of relevant job-related training.
  • Technical Literacy: Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint is essential for lectures) and Google Workspace.
  • Teaching (Preferred): One year of teaching experience in a CoARC-accredited program is a plus.
