Pima Medical Institute is seeking an accomplished Respiratory Therapist to serve as Clinical Director for our Respiratory Therapy program at our Albuquerque campus. In this role, you will combine clinical expertise with educational leadership — overseeing clinical operations, managing and mentoring clinical instructors, and ensuring students are prepared to become skilled, credentialed respiratory care professionals.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily operations and quality of the clinical portion of the Respiratory Therapy program.
  • Manage, train, and evaluate clinical instructors to ensure educational excellence.
  • Develop, coordinate, and evaluate clinical assignments and student progression.
  • Secure, maintain, and strengthen relationships with clinical affiliate sites across the Albuquerque area.
  • Ensure the program remains in full compliance with all CoARC, state, and institutional standards.
  • Provide direct instruction and mentorship to students in clinical and/or classroom settings.

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential and current New Mexico state license or eligibility.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher from a regionally or nationally accredited institution recognized by the USDE.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience as an RRT, with at least 2 years in clinical respiratory care.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as an instructor in a CoARC-accredited Respiratory Care program.
