Location: Albuquerque, NM | On-Campus Salary Range: $78,030 – $97,535 per year

Type: Full-Time

As the Clinical Director for our New Mexico Practical Nursing program, you are the bridge between academic theory and professional practice. You will oversee the entire clinical lifecycle, from securing hospital contracts and scheduling rotations to mentoring faculty and ensuring our students meet the rigorous standards required for licensure.

This leadership role is perfect for an MSN-prepared RN who is passionate about nursing education and wants to shape the quality of healthcare across New Mexico.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clinical Partnerships: Identify, evaluate, and promote new clinical sites. Negotiate contracts and maintain strong relationships with Albuquerque-area healthcare facilities.
  • Program Development: Collaborate with the Program Director to develop, implement, and evaluate standards for student admission, progression, and graduation.
  • Faculty Mentorship: Recruit, orient, and mentor clinical faculty. Manage faculty scheduling and evaluate the quality of instruction in both lab and clinical settings.
  • Curriculum & Lab Oversight: Lead curriculum reviews and maintain the Skills Laboratory. Ensure equipment inventory is current and recommend new technology to enhance learning.
  • Student Success: Provide academic and personal counseling. Monitor the transfer of learning from the classroom to the bedside and maintain meticulous student records.
  • Active Instruction: Maintain clinical proficiency by teaching in the classroom, skills lab, and at clinical sites as needed.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: * Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited program OR
  • Currently enrolled in an MSN program with a completed Baccalaureate degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
  • Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of occupational experience as a professional nurse providing direct patient care.
  • Teaching: One (1) year of teaching experience in a school of nursing is preferred.
  • Licensure: Current, unrestricted New Mexico RN License (or compact license with NM eligibility).
  • Tech Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and educational reporting systems.
