Position Summary
Lead and mentor the next generation of pharmacy professionals! Pima Medical Institute is seeking an experienced Pharmacy Technician Lead Instructor to guide our ASHP-accredited Pharmacy Technician program at our Albuquerque campus.
In this dual leadership and teaching role, you will oversee program operations, manage departmental budgets and ASHP accreditation documentation, collaborate with clinical externship sites, and deliver engaging classroom/lab instruction. Key Responsibilities
Program Leadership & ASHP Accreditation:

ASHP Accreditation & Recordkeeping: Maintain all ASHP accreditation records, prepare self-study documentation, and submit annual reports to ensure full program compliance.

Department & Budget Oversight: Establish departmental goals, manage program budgets and expenditures, and oversee inventory and equipment ordering.

Curriculum & Advisory Board: Evaluate course content, recommend textbook/curriculum updates to the Corporate Education Department, and facilitate Advisory Board meetings to communicate outcomes and community needs.
Instructional Delivery & Clinical Collaboration:

Direct Instruction & Student Success: Implement daily lesson plans, deliver engaging lectures and labs, and track student outcomes to maintain an 80%+ student success rate.

Clinical Externship Support: Partner with Career Services to select, evaluate, and maintain contact with clinical externship sites and site preceptors.

Faculty Onboarding & Student Advising: Assist with orienting new faculty hires, maintain student academic/grade records within policy, and provide direct advisement to support student retention.
Minimum Requirements

Education:
-
Associate’s degree from an institution accredited by an agency recognized by USDE or CHEA.

Graduation from an ASHP-accredited pharmacy technician program.

Occupational Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of active practice experience in a pharmacy setting.

Licensure & Certifications:

Licensed Pharmacist or Nationally Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) in good standing.

Active state/local license or credential as required by law to practice in the field in New Mexico.

Professional Affiliations: Active membership in at least one (1) national and one (1) state pharmacy organization.

Technical Skills: Excellent verbal/written communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) and basic computer applications.
