Online Lead Instructor | Health Care Administration
As a Lead Instructor, you will serve as a master teacher, demonstrating best practices in instruction, faculty mentorship, and professional conduct to inspire and guide fellow faculty members. This role includes full-time online instruction in our health care administration programs, requiring you to teach a full course load each sequence. Additionally, you will support student success, and assist programmatic leadership with administrative duties and meeting programmatic goals.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Perform functions of an online instructor and teach a full course load. Maintain a minimum of a 70% student success rate for all classes taught in the program. Respond to student inquiries within 24 hours when classes are in session.
- Provide timely and substantive feedback to students on assignments and additional assistance to those having difficulty with course content.
- Regularly engage with students in the classroom by participating in discussions and posting announcements, videos, and other materials to enhance student learning.
- Prepare and report final grades on time at the end of each course.
- Serve as a master teacher, exemplifying best practices in instruction, communication, mentorship, and professional conduct to inspire and guide fellow faculty members.
- Actively assist with retention efforts by contacting students who are not actively engaged in courses by phone or email.
- Refer students with questions regarding financial aid, transcripts, and other issues to the proper personnel.
- Advise students regarding academic progress and course participation.
- Mentor program faculty in conjunction with the Assistant Deans of Faculty and program administration.
- Assist the leadership teams with peer observations of online classrooms.
- Participate in continuing education (in-service and professional development) and remain current with professional trends and advances in technology.
- Work with program leadership to implement program goals.
- Assist program leadership with curriculum reviews and updates.
- Attend and participate in advisory board, faculty, and other meetings pertaining to adademics
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s Degree from an accredited school recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or
- the Council of Higher Education Accreditation in a healthcare-related field.
- Background in Health Care Administration or Health Care Management
- Minimum or five (5) years of occupational experience in healthcare and a minimum of three (3) years of online instructional experience in higher education.
- Knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, video conferencing applications, Learning Management Systems, and other computer/internet applications.
- Flexible work schedule to include evenings and weekends.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to be productive in a fast-paced environment.
- Collaborative and team-focused.
