The BSRT Program Director is responsible for the leadership, development, and management of the BSRT program. This role involves overseeing program curriculum and accreditation, ensuring that the program meets the institution's academic standards and goals. The BSRT Program Director collaborates with faculty, students, and administrative staff to enhance program offerings, promote student success, and drive continuous improvement. Key responsibilities include managing budgets, maintaining compliance with academic policies, assessing program outcomes, and fostering relationships with external stakeholders to enhance the visibility and reputation of the program.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Serve as the chief spokesperson and oversee the overall operations of the BSRT program.
  • Establish and implement program goals.
  • Develop and manage a Systematic Evaluation Plan, monitor outcomes, and lead improvement initiatives for continuous program growth.
  • Drive program enhancement through strategic planning, growth/marketing initiatives, curriculum development, alumni outreach, fiscal management, and retention strategies.
  • Organize and oversee the BSRT Advisory Board by accrediting body standards.
  • Review applicant transcripts for program eligibility, assess transfer credits, and conduct pre-enrollment meetings with each applicant.
  • Collect, analyze, and report student success rates and other program metrics. Maintain the Program Effectiveness Plan and implement retention plans based on historical data.
  • Foster strong student relationships by advising on academic performance, schedule changes, and attendance. Ensure an 80% success rate for all courses taught within the program.
  • Assess student performance in curriculum and activities, advising leadership on support provisions to help students meet objectives.
  • In conjunction with the Assistant Deans of Faculty, mentor BSRT online faculty, review teaching methodologies, and evaluate course feedback for effectiveness. Address faculty questions regarding course content and technology.
  • Collaborate with the development team to maintain a curriculum aligned with industry standards and advisory board input. Evaluate course content, review materials, and assist in curriculum design.
  • Participate in committees contributing to institutional governance and represent all online programs on PMI’s Advisory Board Committee.
  • Promote a collaborative environment, working closely with campus respiratory programs and other academic departments (e.g., student services, financial services, career services) to support a student-centered experience.
  • Attend orientations, meetings, graduations, and other campus events as the online division requires.
  • Engage in state and local respiratory organizations, particularly those related to respiratory education.
  • Maintain communication with the State Board of Respiratory Care and the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care to stay informed of regulatory updates.
  • Collaborate with the Online Education Director and Dean to design and implement the online BSRT program.
  • Assist with community outreach to increase program awareness, foster partnerships, and support BSRT-related collaborations.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for developing and revising online courses as needed.
  • Teach online courses (two per sequence) following established instructor guidelines.
  • Additional related duties may be assigned.

MANAGEMENT DUTIES:

  • Monitors and assesses the performance of their team members, providing recognition and rewards and addressing any issues or problems.

  • Trains new and existing employees, providing feedback, coaching, and supporting their professional growth and career advancement.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s Degree from an accredited school recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or the Council of Higher Education Accreditation.
  • Graduate of a CoARC accredited Respiratory Therapy program recognized by
    the U.S. Secretary of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation(CHEA).
  • Four (4) years of experience as an RRT, with at least two years in clinical respiratory care
  • Three (3) years of teaching experience in a CoARC-accredited program.
  • Flexible work schedule to include evenings and weekends.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, video platforms, and Google applications
  • Any equivalent combination of training, education, or experience that meets the minimum qualifications.

 REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, OR REGISTRATIONS:

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
  • Current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) state license.
  • Must have a current license, certification, or other credential as required by local, state, and federal laws to work in the Respiratory Therapy field.
