Position Summary

Join our dynamic Nursing Education Program as a Full-Time Registered Nurse Instructor! Pima Medical Institute is seeking a passionate, clinically active Registered Nurse to help shape the future of healthcare at our Mesa campus (957 S. Dobson Road).

This role is ideal for RNs currently practicing in clinical settings who want to transition their real-world expertise into academic leadership. In this vital full-time position, you will lead clinical experiences, deliver didactic and lab instruction, mentor nursing students, and collaborate with faculty to maintain institutional excellence in nursing practice and education.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical & Didactic Instruction:

  • Clinical Supervision: Instruct, guide, and supervise nursing students during clinical rotations, ensuring student performance aligns with established clinical and safety standards.

  • Lab & Classroom Teaching: Deliver engaging lectures, lead nursing lab practicals, and demonstrate essential nursing procedures following the approved curriculum.

  • Clinical Placement Coordination: Coordinate clinical education experiences and arrange suitable clinical site placements tailored to student learning needs.

Academic Support & Student Mentorship:

  • Performance Evaluation: Assess student progress weekly, provide constructive feedback, and collaborate with the Clinical Director to implement Academic Success Plans for students requiring extra support.

  • Student Retention: Track daily attendance and maintain professional office hours to advise, tutor, and encourage students throughout their nursing journey.

Administrative & Programmatic Support:

  • Program Alignment: Contribute to the development, implementation, evaluation, and annual updating of the Nursing Education Program’s mission, objectives, and curriculum.

  • Faculty Collaboration: Attend departmental faculty meetings, collaborate with Assistant Nursing Program Directors (ANIP) and clinical instructors, and assist with institutional regulatory and accreditation requirements.

Minimum Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) from a program accredited by an agency recognized by USDE or CHEA (Master’s Degree in Nursing preferred).

  • Licensure & Certification: Active, unencumbered Arizona Registered Nurse (RN) license or valid multi-state Compact RN license with privilege to practice in Arizona.

  • Clinical Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of direct patient care experience as a Registered Nurse. Currently working in a active clinical setting required.

  • Technical & Soft Skills: Excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and basic computer applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • One (1) year of full-time teaching experience or experience administering/coordinating a pre-licensure nursing education program.
