Pima Medical Institute is seeking a Medical Assistant Instructor to join our faculty on a structured part-time morning schedule (8 hours per week, Tuesdays and Thursdays). In this role, you will lead classroom lectures, facilitate hands-on clinical lab demonstrations, and guide students toward acquiring the skills needed for a successful career in healthcare.

Key Responsibilities

Instructional Delivery & Student Support:

  • Lesson Execution: Implement and evaluate daily lesson plans, including scheduled activities, course materials, lectures, and practical skill demonstrations for both group and individual learning.

  • Tailored Instruction: Plan instruction to achieve specific learning objectives based on student needs and established curriculum standards.

  • Academic Advising: Assist and advise students regarding the Medical Assistant program curriculum, academic progress, and skill development.

Assessment & Academic Administration:

  • Student Evaluation: Evaluate student performance regarding curriculum achievements and practical activities, making necessary provisions to support individual learning needs.

  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate student attendance and grade records in accordance with established institutional policies. Prepare final module grades to update student transcripts on time.

  • Enrichment Activities: Arrange and coordinate guest speakers, community service field trips, and visits to local clinics and medical offices.

Program & Lab Operations:

  • Safety & Monitoring: Monitor students in classroom and lab settings, ensuring all safety precautions, biohazard protocols, and infection control standards are strictly adhered to.

  • Operational Support: May assist with supply/equipment inventory and ordering. May assist with coordinating externship placements for Medical Assistant students.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Education & Experience: Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program recognized by the USDE or CHEA (or recognized equivalent/foreign entity) AND three (3) years of occupational experience as a Medical Assistant

    OR

    A minimum of four (4) years of job-related training and experience for non-accredited program graduates.

  • National Certification: Must hold a current, unencumbered national registration or certification through an accredited agency (CMA or RMA).

  • Licensure: Current license, certification, or designation as required by local, state, or federal laws to work in the Medical Assistant field.

  • Technical Skills: Verbal and written communication skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) and basic computer/digital tools.

Compensation & Part-Time Benefits

  • Hiring Range: $20.80 to $24.96 per hour.
