Hiring Range: $21.57 – $26.96 per hour

As a Pharmacy Technician Instructor, you aren't just teaching a curriculum; you are the bridge between textbook theory and real-world pharmacy practice. You will lead students through the complexities of pharmacology, dosage calculations, and sterile compounding, ensuring they enter the workforce as accurate, safe, and compassionate professionals.

Essential Functions

  • Instructional Excellence: Plan and deliver engaging lectures and practical demonstrations that achieve specific objectives based on the established curriculum.

  • Student Success & Retention: Maintain a target 80% success rate for all classes; monitor attendance and implement proactive plans to reduce student withdrawals.

  • Clinical Evaluation: Assess student achievements in both the classroom and lab settings, providing the support and provisions necessary to meet individual learning needs.

  • Administrative Integrity: Maintain accurate student records, prepare weekly attendance reports for management, and manage student grades in accordance with policy.

  • Mentorship: Advise students on the Pharmacy Technician curriculum and career paths, fostering a professional environment that mirrors a modern pharmacy.

  • Program Collaboration: Participate in faculty meetings and contribute to the ongoing improvement of the program's instructional methods.

Who You Are

  • A Certified Expert: You possess significant experience as a CPhT and stay current with the evolving landscape of pharmacy law and practice.

  • A Natural Educator: You have a passion for "aha!" moments and enjoy breaking down complex calculations or pharmacological concepts.

  • Accuracy-Driven: You prioritize patient safety and accuracy above all else and instill these values in your students.

  • Tech-Savvy: You are comfortable using modern educational tools and standard office software to track student progress.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: Graduation from a Pharmacy Technician program recognized by the USDE or CHEA, OR a recognized hospital-based training entity.

  • Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of practical experience in the Pharmacy Technician field.

    • Note: Instructors who did not graduate from an accredited program must have at least four (4) years of job-related training and experience.

  • Licensure: Current CPhT certification and Nevada State Board of Pharmacy registration/licensure as required by law.

  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and general computer applications.
