Shape the future of sonography by becoming a Multi-Specialty Instructor at Pima Medical Institute! We are seeking a dedicated Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our Phoenix faculty and play a pivotal role in mentoring aspiring ultrasound professionals.
To ensure comprehensive instruction across our core curriculum, candidates must possess at least two (2) of the following three registry concentrations: Abdomen (AB), Vascular (RVT/VS), or Obstetrics & Gynecology (OB/GYN). Key Responsibilities
Instructional Delivery & Curriculum Management:

Lectures & Demonstrations: Prepare and deliver engaging lectures and practical hands-on demonstrations for classroom and lab instruction.

Lesson Planning: Implement daily lesson plans, scheduled activities, and instructional materials aligned with program objectives.

Community Engagement: Arrange guest speakers, community field trips, and educational visits to local imaging centers and medical clinics.
Laboratory & Practical Instruction:

Hands-On Mentorship: Demonstrate proper lab procedures, positioning, and scanning techniques; supervise and mentor students during scanning labs.

Safety Protocols: Enforce strict laboratory safety, ergonomics, sanitation, and infection control standards.

Externships: May assist with coordinating and supervising student clinical externship placements.
Student Success & Academic Support:

Retention & Success: Monitor student success rates, meet with at-risk students, and implement interventions to maintain an 80%+ student success rate.

Attendance & Progress Tracking: Monitor daily attendance, prepare weekly reports, and collaborate with Student Services if a student's course grade average falls below 77% or if absences occur.

Academic Evaluation: Grade assignments and exams, maintain student records, and prepare final grades at the end of each sequence.

Advising: Maintain office hours to advise, tutor, and guide students through program requirements and career goals.
Minimum Qualifications

Education: Associate’s degree from an academic institution accredited by an agency recognized by the USDE or CHEA.

Clinical Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of occupational (practical) experience as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer / Ultrasound Technologist.

Credentials & Multi-Registry Requirement: Active Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) registration from ARDMS. Must hold at least two (2) of the following active registries:

Licensure: Current license or credential as required by local, state, or federal regulations.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) and computer applications.
