Pima Medical Institute is seeking an experienced Dental Hygiene Clinic Coordinator to join our San Antonio campus. In this role, you will oversee the daily operations of our dental hygiene clinic, supervise and mentor clinical faculty, and play an active role in student instruction and success — all within a supportive, team-driven environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the recruitment, mentoring, and guidance of clinical faculty; provide ongoing training and calibration.
  • Conduct weekly briefings with clinical faculty and support the Clinical Director in evaluating faculty performance.
  • Develop and manage the daily clinic assignment rotation schedule for students and faculty.
  • Conduct student orientations for clinics, labs, and clinic-related courses and requirements.
  • Deliver classroom lectures, laboratory demonstrations, and activities as needed.
  • Participate in clinical instruction, student competency evaluations, and board examination preparation.
  • Oversee and maintain the clinical evaluation system; monitor and track student progress and performance.
  • Schedule and lead clinical advisement sessions at midterm and end of each semester.
  • Supervise daily student clinical activities including implementing policies and procedures, addressing dental-related emergencies, and resolving questions or concerns from students, faculty, staff, and patients.
  • Participate actively in clinic committee meetings.
  • Collaborate with the Clinical Director on daily clinic operations, supply management, and recommended policy updates.

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution required; Master's degree preferred. Candidates actively enrolled in a bachelor's degree program will be considered.
  • Current licensure or certification as a dental hygienist or dentist.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a dental hygienist or dentist preferred.
  • Possession of all current dental or dental hygiene licenses, certifications, or designations required by local, state, or federal regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and dental computer software.
