Dental Hygiene Instructor (Classroom / Didactic)

Location: Albuquerque, NM | Campus: On-Site

Schedule: Full-Time or Part-Time Options Available (Flexible 20 – 40 Hours)

Pay Range: $31.00 – $38.75 per hour

You will lead classroom instruction, develop engaging lesson plans, and mentor students through the rigorous academic requirements of our CODA-accredited program, ensuring they meet the high standards required for state licensure.

Essential Functions

  • Classroom (Didactic) Leadership: Prepare and deliver high-quality instruction that aligns with curriculum objectives and CODA standards.

  • Curriculum Engagement: Implement daily lesson plans and active learning activities that support critical thinking and professional development.

  • Assessment & Feedback: Develop and grade examinations, providing the feedback necessary to help students maintain the required 77% grade average.

  • Academic Advocacy: Monitor attendance and performance; provide academic advisement and tutoring in coordination with the Program Director.

  • Clinical Crossover: When assigned, supervise students in preclinical or laboratory environments to ensure classroom principles are reinforced through hands-on practice.

  • Accreditation Readiness: Maintain accurate student records and assist in the preparation of reports for institutional and programmatic accreditation.

Minimum Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree (required for CODA compliance).

  • Credentialing: Graduate of a CODA-accredited Dental Hygiene or Dental program.

  • Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience as a dental hygienist or dentist.

  • Licensure: Current New Mexico license and all required certifications (including CPR).

Compensation & Benefits

  • Hourly Pay: $31.00 – $38.75 per hour.
