Department: Student Services / Career Development
Location: 100% On-Site, Denver Campus
Schedule: Full-Time, 40 hours/week | Monday–Friday between 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Position Summary:
The Career Services Advisor is the vital link between student education and professional employment, with a specialized focus on healthcare career pathways. This role leverages industry-specific knowledge to coach students, develop employer partnerships, and manage externship placements, ensuring graduates are job-ready and successfully launched into clinical support roles.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Employer & Externship Development: Proactively identify, qualify, and secure new externship and entry-level job sites through targeted outreach, networking, and relationship management within the healthcare community.

Career Coaching & Readiness: Provide one-on-one and group coaching to students and graduates on job search strategy, resume/portfolio development, interview skills, and professional conduct specific to clinical environments.

Placement Coordination: Manage the end-to-end externship process, including student matching, site documentation, compliance checks, and conducting site visits to ensure quality and resolve issues.

Data Management & Compliance: Accurately track all student placements, employer contacts, and outcomes in the campus CRM (Campus Nexus). Ensure all student externship requirements (e.g., background checks, immunizations, certifications) are met prior to placement.

Community Engagement: Represent the institution at industry events, career fairs, and advisory board meetings to strengthen partnerships and enhance program reputation.
Minimum Requirements:

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of professional experience in ONE of the following areas:

Direct clinical support (e.g., Medical Assistant, Dental Assistant, Pharmacy Technician, Patient Care Technician).

Medical office administration or management.

Recruitment, staffing, or career services within a healthcare setting.

Skills & Abilities:

Proven ability to build professional relationships and conduct effective outreach.

Strong interpersonal and coaching skills with an empathetic approach.

Excellent organizational skills and strict attention to detail.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and video conferencing tools.

Logistical Requirements:

Ability to work 100% on-site at the Denver campus.

Ability to work one scheduled late shift per week (until 7:00 PM).

Preferred Qualifications:

Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Healthcare Administration, Business, Communications, etc.).

Experience:

Previous experience in a career advising, academic success coaching, or talent placement role.

Formal experience with externship, internship, or clinical coordination.

An active professional network within the Denver-area healthcare community.

Certifications: Relevant professional certification (e.g., CCMA, RMA, CPT, Notary Public).

Skills: Bilingual proficiency in Spanish.

Hourly Pay Range: $22.88 – $27.46
